18 pocket SpyderPac is an impressive and safe way to carry and display your knife collection. It's half the size of the large SpyderPac and fits neatly in a suitcase or portfolio. Each pocket is 4-1/2" X 2-1/2" (114mm X 63.5mm) Constructed from heavy-denier polyester Cordura, the pack has eighteen deep pockets sized to hold even larger folders. Each pocket is fronted with a clear plastic window for viewing knives tucked inside. It tri-folds over and seals closed by way of a Velcro strip running the width of the pack. The knives remain secure and separated in their pockets and cannot rub or scratch against each other. An adjustable length shoulder strap attaches with two durable steel D-rings letting you hang the pack for display on a wall or sling it over your shoulder to take with you. If you move in custom knife industry circles and/or attend knife shows you will have heard of Frank Centofante. In addition to being a celebrated and longtime custom knifemaker Frank is a past President of the Knifemaker's Guild, a strong voice in the cutlery world and a revered and respected craftsman. Collaborating on knife designs with him is something Spyderco has been fortunate enough to do several times. Our latest offering is the Centofante 3 gentleman's folder. The Centofante 3 has a thin-profiled, lightweight FRN handle. Two channels are furrowed out of the handle for better grip and a Palladium silver Spyderco bug is inlayed into its surface. For added security and convenience the back-lock is positioned midway on the spine and David Boye Dent is cut from the locking lever. The VG-10 blade has both a hollow-grind and swedge-grind with non-sharpened spine serrations (jimping) to hold the thumb steady when cutting. Reasons we offer smaller knives are numerous but essentially people's hands come in different sizes and we occasionally find ourselves in social situations that dictate use of a smaller blade. Many think smaller versions of the same model are simply shrunk down. Not so. For every design to reach its utmost level of ergonomic comfort and maximum performance we often take features and engineer/rework them into a more diminutive pattern. An example is our 79mm version of the Rescue Model. A smaller equivalent of the C14 93mm Rescue, it too has a flat saber-ground, SpyderEdge, VG-10 blade that ends in a sheepfoot safety tip. For smoother thumb rotation we enlarged the Spyderco Trademark Round Hole, which in turn creates a prominent hump to position the thumb on while cutting.
