Handcrafted in the U.S.A., this handsome Ontario TAK 2 Fixed Blade is about 10 inches long (total) and weighs approximately 9.6 ounces. The handle is contoured, Stabilized Hardwood with finger guard and lanyard hole. This knife utilizes a full-tang, 4 14" Drop Point blade with a Flat Bevel grind and 3mm thickness. The blade material is 1095 Carbon Steel with Black Zinc Phosphate finish. Note Carbon Steel is generally harder than stainless steel, this allows the blade to hold a sharper edge, longer. However, Carbon Steel will corrode/rust if it's not cleaned and oiled regularly. The knife is presented with a Leather Belt Sheath. Like the best-selling right-handed Para Military 2, this version features a full-flat-ground CPM® S45VN™ stainless steel blade with an oversized Trademark Round Hole™ that is fully accessible for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed opening. The blade is housed in a handle constructed with stainless steel liners nested within durable textured G-10 scales. This pocket-friendly style of construction results in a slimmer profile and allows an open-backed design that reduces weight and simplifies cleaning and maintenance. It is also the foundation of the knife’s Compression Lock® mechanism, which in this knife is specifically engineered for left-handed operation. If you move in custom knife industry circles and/or attend knife shows you will have heard of Frank Centofante. In addition to being a celebrated and longtime custom knifemaker Frank is a past President of the Knifemaker's Guild, a strong voice in the cutlery world and a revered and respected craftsman. Collaborating on knife designs with him is something Spyderco has been fortunate enough to do several times. Our latest offering is the Centofante 3 gentleman's folder.
The Centofante 3 has a thin-profiled, lightweight FRN handle. Two channels are furrowed out of the handle for better grip and a Palladium silver Spyderco bug is inlayed into its surface. For added security and convenience the back-lock is positioned midway on the spine and David Boye Dent is cut from the locking lever. The VG-10 blade has both a hollow-grind and swedge-grind with non-sharpened spine serrations (jimping) to hold the thumb steady when cutting. A black steel pocket clip positions for tip-up/down, right-hand carry.

Spyderco’s Native® 5 Lightweight CPM S110V combines the highly evolved form, function, and ergonomics of the Native 5 Lightweight with state-of-the-art CPM® S110V blade steel.
CPM S110V is a high-alloy martensitic stainless tool steel manufactured by the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. This process begins with a homogenous molten bath of high-alloy steel that is forced through a nozzle under high-pressure nitrogen gas to create a spray of small spherical droplets that quickly solidify into powder particles. The small size of the particles forms micro-ingots, drastically reducing the alloy segregation in the steel and ensuring an extremely fine carbide microstructure when the powder is processed into finished steel.
CPM S110V’s alloy composition combines an exceptionally high (2.8%) carbon content with generous amounts of chromium, vanadium, and niobium to yield a steel that offers exceptional wear resistance and higher corrosion resistance than many other conventional stainless steels.
This knife’s full-flat-ground CPM S110V blade is paired with a lightweight, injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle that features Bi-Directional Texturing™ for an exceptionally positive grip.
